Date: April 28, 2017
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Veterans

Today, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40) led a bipartisan group of 28 congressmembers in introducing the Chiropractic Care for Veterans Act, which will make chiropractic care a standard benefit for veterans who rely on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for health care. Nearly half of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan seek care for back and joint pain, which is commonly caused by combat and blast injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and use of heavy gear.

"I am honored to lead this bipartisan effort to help our veterans, many of whom suffer from chronic, serious back problems as a result of their service to our country," said Congresswoman Roybal-Allard. "America's veterans should not have to wait for treatment for these back problems. This bill will expand VA chiropractic care so that our veterans can receive the timely, dependable treatment they desperately need."
