Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Renews Call For An Independent Commission On Russian Interference In Response To Attorney General's Testimony

Statement

Date: June 13, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, a member of the House Oversight Committee, released the following statement in response to Attorney General Sessions' sworn testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee:

"Attorney General Sessions' testimony today did little to explain why he was involved in Mr. Comey's firing despite his recusal from the Russia investigations or why he met repeatedly with agents of the Kremlin and then failed to report the meetings to the proper authorities. The Attorney General's unwillingness to answer questions or provide key details contrasts sharply with Mr. Comey's testimony last week. Today's hearing only reinforces the need for both the Special Counsel's investigation and the formation of an independent 9/11-style commission on Russian interference."
