Crawford's Statement on Passage of Iran, Russia, North Korea Sanctions

Statement

Date: July 25, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) voted in favor of the H.R. 3364, Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act, which would place new sanctions on Iran, North Korea, and Russia. It specifically places sanctions on them for involvement in serious human rights abuses, supplying weapons to the Assad regime, conducting cyber activity on behalf of the Russian government, corrupt privatization practices, doing business with Russian intelligence and defense sectors.

"When a country poses a threat to our nation, our allies, and regularly attempts to undermine global stability, there must be consequences. Iran, Russia, and North Korea have repeatedly demonstrated their hostility not only towards the United States but even towards their own people. Today, the House of Representatives passed overwhelmingly bipartisan legislation to take stronger actions against the offending governments by imposing additional sanctions," said Crawford.
