Goodlatte Applauds Confirmation of Christopher Wray as FBI Director

Statement

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) today issued the following statement on the Senate's confirmation of Christopher Wray as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI):

"I commend the Senate for confirming Christopher Wray as the next Director of the FBI. The FBI is the premier law enforcement agency in the world, and it is critical to have a director who holds the trust of the American people. Mr. Wray received overwhelming bipartisan support throughout his confirmation process in the U.S. Senate. He has a long and distinguished legal career, including serving as Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division under President George W. Bush and Assistant U.S. Attorney in Georgia. Mr. Wray's public and private sector service make him extremely well suited to lead the FBI, and I congratulate him on his new role as Director of the FBI. I look forward to working with him."
