U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) issued the following statement on the new sanctions levied on Iran:

"Iran's latest ballistic missile test violated UN Security Council resolutions and the United States responded," said Marchant. "These new sanctions were the swift and decisive actions promised to the American people by the Trump Administration that were noticeably absent from the prior administration's foreign policy playbook. Holding the Iranian regime accountable for this and any other illicit behavior must continue if the United States is going to be successful in defending our citizens and our values worldwide. I applaud the administration for imposing new sanctions to damage Tehran's missile programs and support the fight against terrorism around the world."
