Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee Calls GOP's "MakeAmericaSickAgain" Plan a Disaster for Families

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a senior member of the House Committees on Judiciary and Homeland Security and Ranking Member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations, ripped into the Republican's health care plan for coming up woefully short on providing the kind of coverage the President promised.

"With America finally on the mend thanks to the expansion of coverage through the Affordable Care Act, the Republican plan to repeal and replace the ACA threatens to turn the clock back by making America sick again.

"For seven years, GOP lawmakers said they had a better idea. The President even promised to a plan to provide insurance for everybody. But the dangerous details of this legislation were hidden from the public.

"The Republican plan will kick millions of Americans off their health insurance plans and force others to pay more for less. This plan is a prescription for misery and spells disaster for hard-working families struggling to make ends meet in the face of spiraling health care costs."
