Statement

Date: March 9, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Yesterday the House Committee on Homeland Security held their first committee mark-up of the 115th Congress.

During those proceedings, Rep. Tom Garrett successfully saw his first committee bill, H.R. 1282 - the Acquisition Review Board Act - successfully pass out of committee.

Following passage of H.R. 1282, Rep. Garrett issued the following statement:

"The Acquisition Review Board Act is key to reining in profligate spending by the Department of Homeland Security. This legislation will afford a review board the opportunity to oversee major programs to ensure money is spent responsibly within this department. I thank Chairman McCaul and my colleagues on our collective efforts to bring responsible fiscal policies back to the DHS."
