Date: Jan. 10, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Scott Taylor supported passage of H.R. 321, the INSPIRE Women Act. This legislation, introduced by fellow Virginian, Rep. Barbara Comstock (VA-10), seeks to engage more women and girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields of study. The bill also requires the NASA Administrator to create a plan to facilitate and support current and former astronauts, scientists, engineers and innovators to attract and encourage K-12 female students to continue participating in and ultimately pursue a career in STEM fields.

Congressman Taylor had this to say about the INSPIRE Women Act: "We need to provide our young women and girls with every opportunity to pursue a career in the strongly in-demand STEM fields. The strength of our nation lies in diversity."
