Congressman Jeff Duncan issued the following statement:
"I strongly support canceling the August Congressional recess. While I believe it's important for Members of Congress to be in their home districts listening to constituents during this period, it's also abundantly clear that too much of the people's work remains unfinished. Congress needs to stay in session in order confirm President Trump's nominees, finish the rollback of Obamacare, finalize a budget, begin tax reform, and adopt national security and immigration reforms. Congress needs to do its part to help President Trump implement his agenda, and the best way to do that is for the House & Senate to keep working in Washington."
