Trott: CHOICE Act Empowers Michiganders

Statement

Date: May 4, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Representative Dave Trott (MI-11), member of the House Financial Services Committee, issued the following statement after the House Financial Services Committee voted to advance the Financial CHOICE Act (H.R. 10):

"The CHOICE Act provides individuals and families with the opportunity to choose the checking accounts, mortgages, retirement plans, and credit cards that work for them while imposing the toughest penalties in history for financial fraud. It finally ends too-big-to-fail and ends bank bailouts, holding Wall Street accountable for its risk instead of hardworking Michiganders. This legislation will create a healthier economy, growing local businesses instead of Washington bureaucracy, and empowering Michiganders."
