Dent Statement on Iran Sanctions

Representative Charlie Dent (PA-15) released the following statement today regarding the Trump Administration's decision to re-impose sanctions on Iran in response to the Iranian test launch of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile:

"The never-ending Iranian appeasement project is finally over.

"I approve of the Trump Administration's re-imposition of sanctions against Iran. When Iran conducted a test launch of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile on Sunday, it was only the latest in a long string of provocations aimed at our country, the region, and frankly, the World. Iran knowingly flouted a United Nations Security Council resolution by this missile test. Iran continues to actively foment discord and increase instability in the Middle East. Appeasing Iran will only lead to their further testing our resolve. Sanctions are the appropriate diplomatic and security response."
