Letter to Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, Speaker of the Knesset - Wishes and Prayers for the Western Wall

Letter

Date: June 1, 2017
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Foreign Affairs

Dear Speaker Edelstein,

I want to thank you for inviting me to participate in the 50 year anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem through this exchange of prayers. The relationship between our two countries is something I believe is very important and something our states should continue to build.

Israel is a nation that confronts challenges no other state faces, but your nation's resilience is something I admire. Few countries have a relationship as close as our two nations because of our common values and joint interests. We share a commitment to freedom, democracy, and entrepreneurship.

Strengthening this relationship is something I have included in my wishes to be placed at the Wall. Your country is our ally and I hope our friendship is everlasting.

I'm honored to have my wishes and prayers placed between the sacred stones of the Western Wall. They are included.

Sincerely,

Todd Rokita

Member of Congress

Lord,

I thank you for the many blessings you have bestowed upon me. I ask you to protect my family - Kathy, Teddy, and Ryan.

I pray for peace and compassion in all nations, including Israel and the United States.

I ask for your wisdom in my work. May you guide us to leave a better world than we found.

Todd Rokita
