Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today $1,076,128 in federal funding to support Head Start and Early Head Start Programs at the Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency in Fargo that will support North Dakota's children in their first years of education.

"Head Start and Early Head Start can make all the difference in a child's success and giving them quality education early on will create opportunities for them throughout their lives," said Heitkamp. "These federal funds will be used to support Head Start and Early Head Start programs that build the education and overall wellbeing of children in Fargo who may not otherwise be able to receive this fundamental educational opportunity."

Long an advocate for early childhood education, Heitkamp has been a staunch supporter of Head Start programs that help children get a solid education at a young age, setting them on paths to succeed.

These funds are authorized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Head Start.
