House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on House passage of H.R. 1367 to help the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hire and retain employees:

"Our veterans deserve the best, but the VA is plagued by a culture of unaccountability. True cultural reform in the VA, as with any organization, starts with the people. This legislation, coupled with legislation that we passed yesterday, continues to empower the VA with more personnel flexibility so that our veterans can get the timely care and service they deserve. H.R. 1367 gives the VA more power to hire and retain the best and the brightest who want to serve our veterans and our country. Working for our veterans is an honor, and we should do everything we can to bring in the finest staff to work at the VA."
