House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on House passage of H.R. 1181, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act:

"The reasons for this bill are exceedingly simple: the Department of Veterans Affairs should not be an arbiter of who gets to keep their constitutional 2nd Amendment rights, and our veterans should always be free to exercise their rights absent due process of law."
