In case you missed it, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) ranks fourth on a list recently compiled by Medill News Service in their article that ranks U.S. Senators by the number of bills they have sponsored or co-sponsored that have been enacted into law during the current congress.
"When Ohioans write my office, they aren't thinking about whether I'm a Republican or Democrat. They're thinking about the loss of a job, a bill they're struggling to pay or the crumbling road they drive to school or work each day," said Brown in the article. "My job is to serve them, and to do that I've got to seek out common ground with my colleagues. We aren't always successful, but striking up bipartisan conversations on the issues facing our constituents is the first step to passing legislation."
Brown has sponsored or co-sponsored more than 20 bills that have been enacted into law, including the following:
S. 136: Gold Star Fathers Act of 2015
S. 142: Child Nicotine Poisoning Prevention Act of 2015
S. 1424: Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015
S. 2487: Female Veteran Suicide Prevention Act
S. 2794: American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2016
