Esty Responds to President Trump's Remarks on Infrastructure

Statement

Date: Feb. 28, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (CT-5), the Vice Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, tonight issued the following statement after President Trump's address to Congress:

"Our nation's infrastructure and transportation systems should be the envy of the world. To achieve that goal, we need a bold, comprehensive plan to move our infrastructure into the 21st century -- not tax credits for private companies, but real investment in the infrastructure that sustains our communities and serves our working families. I hope President Trump is serious about pursuing infrastructure investment in a bipartisan way. It is time for the President to release a detailed plan for revitalizing our roads, bridges, highways, rail systems, water systems, ports, and airports."
