Today, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee voted 14-9 to advance the nomination of Dr. Scott Gottlieb to head the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). HELP Committee member Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) released the following statement:
"Dr. Gottlieb has the experience and knowledge necessary to guide the Food and Drug Administration toward achieving its public health mission. I was pleased to vote at Committee today, and look forward to a full Senate vote for Dr. Gottlieb to lead the FDA during such an exciting time for innovation in our country."
