Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, made the following statement on the Senate confirmation of South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations:

"Nikki Haley will bring a fresh perspective to the United Nations. She has a record of success in South Carolina and is well prepared to engage with world leaders and craft solutions to the world's most difficult humanitarian crises and political conflicts. Her pledge to support Israel, our closest ally in the region, will rebuild a critical relationship."
