Congressman Andy Biggs Issues Statement on President Donald Trump's U.S. Supreme Court Nomination

Today, President Donald Trump nominated Judge Neil Gorsuch to replace the-late Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement:

"President Donald Trump's nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court is a welcome relief to Americans who honor and cherish the original intent of the U.S. Constitution. President Trump promised the American people that he would nominate a justice in the mold of the late-Justice Scalia, and I have every confidence that Judge Gorsuch will accurately interpret the Constitution, rather than legislate from the bench.

"Our country and Constitution are in jeopardy because of activist judges from many judicial jurisdictions. I have hope that Judge Gorsuch and all of President Trump's nominees will uphold the Constitution, stand for life and religious freedom, and work to protect the 2nd and 10th Amendments.

"I encourage all Arizonans to support Senator John McCain and Senator Jeff Flake as they now begin the fight to ensure that Judge Neil Gorsuch is confirmed and seated on the U.S. Supreme Court. I will be praying for wisdom and perseverance for our Senators throughout this confirmation fight."
