2016 has been an exciting year full of change, enthusiasm and progress. I have officially completed my first term as your Congressman and it's been an honor to represent you and your loved ones in Washington, DC. This year I have traveled the district and listened to your concerns and I hope we can address many of them in the coming year. In the next Congress I plan to continue pursuing policies to balance the budget and reign in the regulatory state. The Oversight and Government Reform Committee recently held a hearing on legislation I introduced called the Agency Accountability Act. I hope we're able to pass this common sense bill and other legislation. I plan to continue my trips home every weekend as the schedule allows, so if I didn't see you this year, I look forward to hopefully seeing you in the Sixth District soon.
As we gather with friends, family and loved ones for Christmas celebrations, I want to share with you a passage of scripture that is part of what I read to my family every Christmas morning. Isaiah 9:6. "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
With the hope and joy this season brings, I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas.
