Roby Applauds Selection of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court

U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-Ala.) today applauded President Donald Trump's decision to nominate Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Gorsuch, who currently serves on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, is known as a Constitutional originalist, and his addition to the Supreme Court could help stop the erosion of the separation of powers, Roby said.

"I applaud President Trump for his selection of such a highly qualified and capable nominee. The addition of Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court would hasten our government's return to Constitutional balance and our country's return to following the rule of law.

"There is no question that Judge Gorsuch is qualified to serve on the Supreme Court, and I urge the Senate to quickly begin confirmation proceedings."
