Statewide Investments To Create $40 Million In New Payroll

Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for twelve projects set to create 694 new jobs and retain 2,501 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $40 million in new payroll, and spur more than $164 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL

Jefferson Industries Corporation, Village of West Jefferson (Madison Co.) expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $680,000 in new annual payroll and retaining $28.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in the Village of West Jefferson (Madison Co.). Jefferson Industries creates auto body components to protect automobile passengers. The TCA approved a 1.598 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Rocket Code LLC, City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 30 full-time positions, generating $2.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). Rocket Code builds ecommerce software and websites to foster relationships between customers and brands. The TCA approved a 1.517 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

West-Ward Pharmaceuticals Corp., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 65 full-time positions, generating $2.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $78.4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). West-Ward Pharmaceuticals provides generic prescription medication to chain stores, wholesalers, distributors, health systems and government agencies. The TCA approved a 0.689 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST

Creative Plastic Concepts, LLC, City of Findlay (Hancock Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in the City of Findlay (Hancock Co.). Creative Plastic Concepts designs, prototypes, and produces plastic totes, containers and shelving. The TCA approved a 2.173 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

American Retail Corporation, Village of Evandale (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 57 full-time positions, generating $2.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in the Village of Evandale (Hamilton Co.). American Retail Corporation distributes, manufactures and installs pools, spas, indoor and outdoor furniture and entertainment accessories. The TCA approved a 1.256 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Darana Hybrid, Inc., City of Hamilton (Butler Co.) expects to create 200 full-time positions, generating $9 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's new project in the City of Hamilton (Butler Co.). Darana Hybrid is an electro-mechanical contractor specializing in the implementation of distribution systems for the food and beverage and conveyor industries. The TCA approved a 1.838 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Hayneedle, Inc., City of Monroe (Warren Co.) expects to create 104 full-time positions, generating $3.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in the City of Monroe (Warren Co.). Hayneedle is an ecommerce retailer for home furnishings. The TCA approved a 2.062 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

TV One Broadcast Sales Corporation, City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 34 full-time positions, generating $1.8 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company's new project in the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.). TV One Broadcast Sales designs, manufactures and distributes signal processing for the professional audio and video market. The TCA approved a 1.086 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WEST

Verso Corporation, Miami Township (Montgomery Co.) expects to create 46 full-time positions, generating $11.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $18.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's consolidation project in Miami Township (Montgomery Co.). Verso produces coated papers and specialty paper products. The TCA approved a 1.742 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHEAST

MPW Environmental Services, Inc., Village of Mingo Junction (Jefferson Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $738,941 in new annual payroll and retaining $5.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in the Village of Mingo Junction (Jefferson Co.). MPW Environmental Services provides industrial cleaning, water purification, facility management, environmental management and container management services. The TCA approved a 1.471 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

LOCATION TBD

Group Management Services, Inc., (Location TBD) expects to create 68 full-time positions, generating $3.4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $7.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's expansion project in a to-be-determined location. Group Management Services provides Human Resource solutions for companies. The TCA approved a 1.407 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

InnoSource, Inc., (Location TBD) expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company's new project in a to-be-determined location. InnoSource is a call center and customer service provider. The TCA approved a 1.634 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
