KUHL REACTS TO JUDGE ROBERTS NOMINATION

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jul 20 - U.S. Representative John R. "Randy" Kuhl, Jr. (R-Hammondsport) today reacted to the President's nomination of Judge John G. Roberts to serve as the next Supreme Court Associate Justice:

"Judge Roberts is an excellent choice for the Supreme Court. He's well qualified to serve, has extensive experience, and is widely respected for his fairness," said Rep. Kuhl, who is credentialed to practice before the United States Supreme Court. "He possesses those intangible traits necessary to be a Supreme Court Justice. He tends to rule based on the application of existing laws and specific facts of the cases before him rather than making new laws or creating new policies based on personal opinion. He has a keen intellect, is impartial, mild-tempered, and his integrity is above reproach. I hope the Senate acts to confirm Judge Roberts prior to October 3, when the Court is to convene for the Fall term."
