U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) today released the following statement after meeting with President-elect Donald J. Trump's designee to become the next Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, Mr. Steven Mnuchin.

"This afternoon, I had a productive meeting with Steve Mnuchin, President-elect Trump's nominee to head the Treasury Department," said Senator Sullivan. "We discussed several issues of vital importance to our state and country that I have worked on since joining the Senate, including energy independence, regulatory reform, robust economic growth, infrastructure, and comprehensive tax reform. I also appreciated the opportunity to have a detailed discussion on the powerful tools at the Treasury Department's disposal to combat terrorist states like Iran. I look forward to working with incoming Secretary Mnuchin upon his confirmation."
