Kline, Roe Statement on Federal Judicial Decision Blocking DOL Persuader Rule

Press Release

Date: Nov. 16, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. John Kline (R-MN), chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and Rep. Phil Roe (R-TN), chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, issued the following joint statement after a federal judge permanently blocked the Department of Labor from enforcing the "persuader" rule:

"The persuader rule is an assault on the right of workers to make informed union decisions, and it would have a chilling effect on the right of employers to seek legal advice as they face a host of complex labor rules. We applaud Judge Cummings for his decision and call on the administration to immediately abandon this extreme and partisan rule."
