Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge Joins More than 160 Members of Congress in Urging the President-Elect to Withdraw Bannon Appointment

Statement

Date: Nov. 16, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) joined more than 160 congressional colleagues in urging President-Elect Donald Trump to rescind his appointment of Steve Bannon as White House Chief Strategist.

Congresswoman Fudge said:

"Hate has no place in the White House. Following a tough, embattled election, our country needs to see a vision of diversity and acceptance - not division and antiquity. I have received numerous calls from constituents in the 11th District of Ohio, as well as Americans across the country, expressing outrage at the possibility of Mr. Bannon's appointment. It is critical that we listen to their concerns. This proposed action paints a picture of our nation as exclusive, ignoring and inflaming differences. Mr. Trump, I urge you to reconsider your appointment."
