Today, Maggie for NH Campaign Manager Marc Goldberg released the following statement on Governor Hassan's victory in the NHPR/Business and Industry Association radio debate:
"Governor Maggie Hassan once again demonstrated that she is the only candidate in this race who will fight for the priorities of hard-working Granite Staters.
"In this debate, Governor Hassan highlighted that by working with Republicans and Democrats, she passed two fiscally responsible, bipartisan budgets without an income or sales tax, froze tuition at state universities and lowered it at community colleges, and expanded quality, affordable health coverage to more than 50,000 Granite Staters. Governor Hassan has gotten results for New Hampshire, and she outlined today how she will take that same common sense, bipartisan approach to the United States Senate to support innovative businesses, expand economic opportunity, and keep New Hampshire and America safe.
"Meanwhile, Senator Kelly Ayotte once again failed to answer for the fact that she puts her own political interests ahead of Granite Staters. From her craven political calculations on Donald Trump, to her record of voting for the priorities of the corporate special interests that fund her campaigns at the expense of Granite Staters, it's clear that Ayotte is only looking out for herself, not for New Hampshire. Ayotte even floundered when pushed on the fact that she hasn't lifted a finger in Washington on key New Hampshire priorities like commuter rail. And the false and desperate attacks that Ayotte launched today were a clear indication that she knows voters can see right through her blatant political maneuvering.
"On November 8, Granite Staters will have a clear choice between Maggie Hassan, a true fighter for New Hampshire families, and Kelly Ayotte, who only cares about saving her Senate seat."
