Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) released the following statement regarding the 40thanniversary of the Hyde Amendment:

40 years ago today, 3 years after Roe v. Wade, the Hyde Amendment was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives," said Rep. Long. "43 years ago it outraged me to think you could legally stop a beating heart and today it still does. Today, we not only remember the passage of the Hyde Amendment, but the impact it has had on saving many lives."
