Issue Position: Serving Seniors

Issue Position

Walter has sponsored legislation to improve the quality of life for seniors. He has filed a bill that will improve the delivery of prescription drug benefits, co-sponsored legislation to establish a real estate tax credit for persons 65 and older, and has worked to exempt senior citizens from having to pay certain banking fees.

His legislative record on issues important to seniors has been, and continues to be, consistent and strong. Protecting seniors, like his parents, will always be one of his top priorities.

*Worked with Congressman Stephen Lynch and Senator Elizabeth Warren's office to correct the flight patterns at Logan Airport that disrupted our neighborhoods
*Fought hard to expand funds for full-day kindergarten -- even after a veto -- to help our working families
*Ensured local sports are available to our community by preventing the privatization of Ulin Rink
