We need clean energy investments that helps us keep utility costs down while protecting our land and water for generations to come. Politicians in Tallahassee are ignoring the dangerous threat of climate change. That's simply dumb and defies common sense. Responsible energy policies mean keeping costs low for consumers -- that means no more unfair and unjustified "utility taxes" or "fracking taxes". FPL is now trying to tax Floridians for nuclear power plants that don't exists and out of state fracking projects that won't help us here at home one bit. And, the political leaders are letting them get away with it. This is reckless, hypocritical and a scam that will cost us billions in more utility costs while also threatening our land and the water we drink. We need to recognize how important our coastline, rivers, wetlands and other natural resources are to our economy. Any common sense energy program must protect sensitive lands, watersheds, coastal ecosystems and shorelines, as well as the water we drink.
