Our nation is stronger for its commitment to defending the rights of all people. That's why I have advocated for the extension of equal rights, the repeal of discriminatory laws like Don't Ask Don't Tell, the elimination of hate-motivated violence, prohibiting discrimination in the workplace, and the improved health and well being for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, or expression. I support equal pay for equal work and strongly oppose the Supreme Court's recent ruling that gave a woman's employer a say in her personal health care decisions. This ruling effectively sanctions employment discrimination against women and I joined a coalition of women and men to introduce legislation that would reverse it.
