Right now, dozens of members of Congress are staging an unprecedented sit-in on the House floor to call on Congress to take action on gun violence. They've had enough of the inaction in Congress in stopping the gun violence epidemic -- and they're doing their part to break the mold.

Extraordinary times demand extraordinary leadership. That's why after Orlando's shooting, I joined with my fellow Florida Democrats to call for a special session to pass common-sense gun safety reforms, to keep guns out of the hands of terrorists and keep our communities safe from gun violence. I cannot and will not sit by idly while our neighbors, friends, and children are getting gunned down.
