TANNER STATEMENT ON LONDON BOMBINGS
July 7, 2005

Vows that Allies Will Continue Fight on Terror

U.S. Rep. John Tanner issued the following statement about the terrorist bombings in London.

"We were deeply saddened to learn of the senseless terror bombings in London that left dozens dead and hundreds injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones. We remain committed to working with all our allies around the world to stop these cowards who use violent acts such as this one and the Sept. 11 attacks in the U.S. to try to instill fear and threaten our way of life."

Tanner represents Tennessee's 8th Congressional district and serves as past vice president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, a role which allows him to meet with parliamentarians around the world to discuss global terrorism.
