Brown Announces $54 Million Federal Loan for Fulton County Health Center

Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a Rural Development loan of $54,600,000 for Fulton County Health Center to build a 62,220 square foot Medical Office Building and to make improvements to its existing facilities.

"Fulton County Health Center provides critical access to quality medical care for Fulton County residents," said Brown. "This project will help solve the center's current space shortage, attract more medical specialists to the area, and ensure that Fulton County Health Center can continue its important work."

Brown is the first Ohioan to serve on the Senate Agriculture Committee in more than 40 years. In 2014, he was part of the Senate Farm Bill Conference Committee that successfully negotiated a five-year farm bill that had been stalled for more than three years. Brown supported a strong Rural Development title in the 2014 Farm Bill to encourage economic development in rural communities.
