Kinzinger Statement on Obamacare 2017 Cost Hikes for Illinois

Today, the Illinois Department of Insurance released the 2017 health care rate filings. Most rates will increase significantly for consumers with fewer insurers participating in the individual exchange. In response to this devastating news for Illinois families, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) released the following statement:

"As I have said before, Obamacare is not working for Illinois families. These rate increases will further devastate families working to afford health insurance, and will put a greater burden on those struggling to make ends meet. With a limited health insurance market and increasingly high premiums, the so-called "affordable care' that was promised to so many is now even farther out of reach for folks here in Illinois and across the country."
