Press Release

Location: Newhall, CA

Today, Wednesday August 3, Bryan Caforio, will tour Landscape Development, Inc. in Valencia where he will discuss his small business support plan developed with the leading local expert in Small Business Development, Steve Tannehill.

"I'm honored to be working with Bryan on an issue that's very dear to me, the support and expansion of opportunities for small businesses in our community," said Tannehill, former Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Director of the Center for International Trade Development at College of the Canyons. "Small business owners need support not only at the local and state level, but they also need a champion in Washington. I believe Bryan has the entrepreneurial mindset, passion, and commitment to fight for legislation at the federal level to foster a better climate for small businesses back home in the District."

The Caforio Small Business Support Plan would push to expand access to capital through Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, encourage equity crowdfunding recently made available for small businesses in the federal JOBS act, cut red tape that inhibits growth, offer tax incentives to small business owners so they can better invest in their own businesses, expand entrepreneur and job training programs, invest in infrastructure, provide improved healthcare options through the Affordable Care Act, and fight for an increase in the federal minimum wage.

"Small business owners and entrepreneurs are the dreamers and risk-takers who drive our economy and make our country great," said Caforio. "For the small business owner I'll fight to expand access to capital through Small Business Administration (SBA) loans and offer tax incentives so they can better invest in their own businesses. For the employees, I want to see an increase in the federal minimum wage, and investment and expansion of Social Security and Medicare to ensure their future is secure. Together we can create an economy that works for everyone."

Landscape Development, Inc. was founded in 1982 with the goal of delivering the highest quality landscape services to the California market. Company President Gary Horton began his personal involvement in the landscaping industry as early as 1966. Today, over thirty years since its founding, Landscape Development, Inc. remains California's premier full-service landscape firm.
