Issue Position: Brief Comments About my Positions

Issue Position

* Taxes in Wisconsin are still higher than Illinois, that's an embarrassment and a sign that state government is still bloated.
* Term limits for all offices are important to continue to refresh the thinking in Madison & Washington. There are plenty of qualified candidates available, though incumbents have too many advantages to make competitive races a reality.
* Entitlement reform is a must do on my list. Generations of families considering an entitlement program as their way of life are an embarrassment to this country. A truly compassionate answer is to make work, and the possibility of promotion in that work, a mandatory component of any welfare program. Additionally, drug testing after a reasonable waiting period is a fair way to make sure that those receiving benefits are making themselves as attractive to potential employers as possible.
* Gun rights for law abiding citizens are not negotiable. The framers of the Constitution made it clear; gun ownership is a right that couldn't ever be compromised.
* Common Core, aka Fed Ed, is Obama Care for our schools. Keeping the federal government out of our children's schools is critical to Wisconsin continuing to move forward.
* Job opportunities will continue to expand as Wisconsin proves they are serious about cutting spending and taxes. We also must show employers that we have a qualified work force available, and that will come from many avenues, but entitlement reform should provide many available candidates for the new positions.
* School Choice is a proven game changer in education. Quality public schools are a must in order to build a base of qualified job candidates, but where quality schools are not available, we must guarantee the children a fair chance of advancement through a great education. School Choice forces all public schools to compete for students, thus forcing all of our schools to be at the top of their game.
