Ms. CLARKE of New York. 1217, the bipartisan--that means Democrats and Republicans-- expanded background checks legislation, to honor the memory of Jonathon Edwards, 22 years old, from Georgia. He was a victim of gun violence who never received a moment of action here in the House of Representatives. He is deserving of that action, Mr. Speaker. Twenty- two years. No action. Mr. Speaker, it is time for us to act. The American people need for us to act.
