A balanced state budget is the cornerstone of a fiscally responsible government. Economic competitiveness, tax and spending policies and accurate financial forecasting are dependent on a state's ability to responsibly manage its finances. Arizona cannot return to the irresponsible bloated budgets and spending of the Napolitano years. Arizona faces serious budget challenges in the years ahead and the Legislature must conservatively balance the budget while paying off debt.
