Issue Position

As the first God-given right stated in the Declaration of Independence, choose Life… . Life is good, precious, and sacred.

Technology has helped to reveal truth. During pregnancy, the womb is not just a mass of tissue until the moment of birth. There was a beautiful magazine published in 1992 by American Baby Magazine. It was titled "As Your Baby Grows'. It showed the progression of a baby from conception to birth. At six weeks old, the embryo already looks like a tiny baby! Any presupposition that babies before birth are no more than organic tissue has to be completely wiped out for anyone seeing these images!

Understanding grew as my faith grew as well. Technology revealed what God already told us in Jeremiah 1;5: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.'

God knows us before we are conceived. The very premise upon which our nation was built provides revelations! According to our own Declaration of Independence, we are all created equal, given certain unalienable rights by our God, among those rights "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.' We all have the right to life -- regardless of sex, of skin color, intelligence, or of age!
