"Kansans understand our tax code is broken. There are not many folks who want to defend the status quo. For decades, Americans have labored on, as our cumbersome, complicated, costly tax code has cost jobs and hurt innovation.
"To fix these problems, the House Majority has proposed a tax reform plan. It is comprised of policies that are based on commonsense principles everyone can agree on: rewarding hard work, stimulating growth, building a fairer, flatter tax code, and holding the IRS in check.
"And a recent analysis of our tax reform agenda by the Tax Foundation showed that these plans would lead to an additional 1.7 million jobs for the American people, and an extra 9.1 percent growth for the American economy.
"The American people deserve a better way -- and that is exactly what House Republicans are going to deliver."
