Adriano Espaillat has a clear vision for economic development in upper Manhattan, which boils down to paying people fairly and giving small businesses a helping hand. Adriano will fight to end wage discrimination by calling for the strongest possible assurances that women are paid an equal wage for equal work. A wage, Adriano believes should be livable for all. He will bring the fight for $15 to Washington, with the same passion and determination that has made him a leader in the fight for $15 in New York.
Adriano understands that small businesses are the soul of our communities, and the number one employer. Following the devastating 1999 blackout Adriano fought for improvements including millions of dollars in smart energy equipment grants from Con Edison to help businesses install 2000 pieces of smart energy equipment. He will breakdown barriers for small businesses by: increasing access to capital, providing grants for new technology, and tax breaks for hiring local. Allowing small businesses to grow and prosper, which will lift up entire communities.
