Issue Position

The oil and gas industry in Colorado provides almost 100,000 jobs. My understanding is that in the history of hydraulic fracturing (fracking), there is little evidence to suggest fracking is unsafe or damages the environment. With the use of modern technology and clear awareness, companies who engage in fracking can extract gas and oil responsibly. I am against unnecessary policies that hurt the poor the most, killing jobs and raising energy prices.

I am for all forms of energy production. I am against subsidizing energy schemes. I would promote a free market in energy production. I know that regulations can cause a "tragedy of the commons." I know too that pollution must be controlled. I am for market solutions to make sure that our environment remains clean and beautiful, and we have a productive energy-rich economy.
