Issue Position: Limited Government

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2016

The 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution clearly states that "the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." The Framers of our Constitution wisely believed in a limited government and the principles of federalism.

Today the federal government has outgrown its enumerated authorities and much of the powers it currently wields should be returned to the states.

I will remain steadfast in my commitment to stop the growth of the federal government in its tracks and return to the states their constitutionally-granted governing powers.
