Today, Congressman Steve Israel (NY-03) introduced legislation that will help make higher education more accessible to hardworking New York families. The legislation will help provide financial relief to those preparing for college through tutoring and entrance exams, provide tax credits to students and families currently paying college tuition, ease the burden of student loan debt on college graduates and fund grants for community colleges to train veterans for local jobs.

"Hardworking New York families should not have to struggle to pay to send their children to college," said Rep. Steve Israel. "My four bills contain common sense higher education solutions that will save students and families thousands of dollars, provide job training for our nation's veterans and reduce the crushing burden of student loan debt. I urge my colleagues to pass these bills and ensure that higher education is attainable for more hardworking Americans seeking to invest in their futures."
