Rep. Joe Heck Statement on Results of FBI's Investigation of Secretary Clinton's Email Practices

Statement

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Joe Heck (NV-03) today released the following statement regarding the results of the FBI's investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email practices.

"While the FBI decided not to recommend criminal charges against Secretary Clinton, it is clear that her operating a private email server and conducting official State Department business through it, particularly in transmitting emails containing classified information, shows a blatant and intentional disregard for the law. As a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, I have seen first-hand what our adversaries will do to obtain information that might be used against us. The idea that Secretary of State Clinton, now a candidate for the highest office in the land, would carelessly and wantonly put that type of sensitive information on a private server for her own convenience raises serious questions about her judgement in the area of national security.

"Today's FBI decision sends the signal there is one set of rules for Hillary Clinton and another set for everyone else."
