Statement

Date: June 23, 2016
Location: Concord, NH
Issues: Transportation

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing House Bill 2016, relative to the state 10-year transportation improvement plan:

"The Ten-Year Transportation Plan is integral to ensuring a solid, modern transportation infrastructure, which is critical to the success of our people, our businesses and our state. This plan advances several important transportation projects that will help build on the bipartisan progress we have made over the last several years, including maintaining and preserving existing roads and bridges, completing the widening of Interstate 93, accelerating construction of Exit 4A in Londonderry and Derry and beginning the first phase of widening the portion of Route 106, which is critical for access to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. While there is still much more work to do to strengthen our transportation infrastructure -- including bringing commuter rail from Boston to Nashua and Manchester -- I am proud to sign this bipartisan transportation plan into law to support our people and businesses and spur economic growth."
