Education is the key to building a strong and competitive workforce in a global economy. John supports education programs that have a proven track record of increasing student aptitude, rewarding good teachers and providing viable options that give Arizona students the greatest opportunity to succeed.

Senator McCain also believes that Arizona students are best served when parents, teachers, and state and local officials--not federal bureaucrats--are in control of the federal tax dollars supporting education, and encourages experimentation at the state and local level to help make sure that Arizona's schools adequately prepare our children for the challenges they face in the future. As a member of the Senate Public Charter School Caucus, John supports Arizona's robust public charter school network of more than 500 schools, including Basis Charter School, the top-ranked charter school in the nation.
