Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the release of the Benghazi report by the final House Select Committee on Benghazi:
"Today's report confirmed what we've suspected all along: Secretary Clinton and the Obama administration put four Americans, including our own Ambassador, in harm's way in an area teeming with terrorists, without adequate security, and with no military assets within close range. And during the eight hours they were under attack, the Administration didn't even let American military jets get off the ground. If the president directs the Secretary of Defense and his combatant commander to send help to put the fear of God and the United States of America into terrorists then it should happen, without question. So why didn't that happen? That neither President Obama nor Secretary Clinton were willing to personally invest the time and the effort to make sure that we deployed every resource available to stopping a second-wave attack is unfathomable. That is the exact opposite of leadership-it's a horrific failure and an utter disgrace."
